Boy, 16, charged with murder in stabbing death of 14-year-old: Toronto police

TORONTO — Toronto police say a 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a 14-year-old boy was fatally stabbed on Saturday night in the city's east end.

Police say the suspect turned himself in on Monday and has since been charged with first-degree murder.

They say paramedics responded to reports of a stabbing shortly after 10 p.m. in the Eastern Avenue and Woodward Avenue area.

Police say the injured victim was found near a fast-food restaurant and taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators have said that "hundreds" of people were in the area at the time and could have potentially witnessed the stabbing.
