BarrieToday readers helped to raise $1,875 for the Women and Children's Shelter of Barrie! L-R: Gary Assis, BarrieToday, Danielle Parks-Hamer, Women and Children's Shelter of Barrie, Kim Black, BarrieToday /BarrieToday

Last week, BarrieToday asked you, our readers, to join us in supporting the Women and Children's Shelter of Barrie for our Cares Spring Match: Sheltering our Communities and your response was nothing short of extraordinary.

We partnered with Metro Barrie to offer grocery gift cards for our readers to purchase for the Women and Children's Shelter of Barrie through an online pop-up store.

BarrieToday and generous local businesses pledged to match every purchase made through the online store, meaning that every purchase was matched four times!

Together, we raised an incredible $1,875 for the Women and Children's Shelter of Barrie and delivered nine grocery gift cards, helping to support those who need it most. Thank you!

Special thanks to Metro Barrie for donating the gift cards for this initiative, and to the following businesses who have joined us in matching each donation: Peggy Hill, Paul Sadlon Jr. and Aquamaster

If you didn't get a chance to participate in this program, we encourage you to send your donation directly to your local shelter.
